Motorised Trailers

Lynton offers a range of motorised units from 3500kg up to 26000kg. The units weighing up to 3500kg are increasingly popular as they escape recently revised driving and tachograph regulations and can be driven on a standard driving licence. Body lengths can range from 3.5m to 9m. Chassis can be lowered to optimise access with full DDA compliance being achieved.

Motorised Vehicles

For many businesses and organisations motorised units are the perfect solution for meeting their promotional, welfare and service delivery needs. They can be converted for a range of different purposes, providing space for commercial displays or for delivering services such as healthcare to out of the way or hard to reach places. Motorised units can be a practical alternative, removing the need to tow a trailer onto the site where they’re to be used. All kinds of vehicles of different sizes and specifications can be converted into flexible new uses. Let’s explore this in more detail.

Easy To Navigate

Motorised vehicles are ready to go whenever you need them. They are easier to drive and navigate than a vehicle towing a trailer. This means that less experience is needed to operate them. Larger motorised units will require an HGV licence, but smaller units can be operated on a regular driving licence. Lynton offers a range of motorised units from 3500kg up to 26000kg. The units weighing up to 3500kg are increasingly popular as they escape recently revised driving and tachograph regulations and can be driven on a standard driving licence. A Versatile Choice

Motorised vehicles can be deployed for a wide range of purposes and are particularly useful when it comes to delivering services such as health care. Lynton has created motorised vehicles for services such as the police, the NHS, Transport for London, Fire Services, and local authorities.

We were approached by the MCVC, Rotherham’s Military Community Veterans Centre, to create a new Mobile Information Vehicle. This was needed to provide an information service to help serving and ex-service military personnel and their families in Rotherham and the surrounding areas. The resulting unit now combines comfortable seating and ample storage, with windows and a skylight making the internal space more comfortable.

At the larger end of the scale, we were tasked with creating a 9.8m Mobile Skills Unit for NHS Education for Scotland. This was needed to help the service deliver on-site clinical training for medical practitioners based in far-flung and remote areas. The finished unit has a large, bright teaching environment, pull-out steps, a self-contained hybrid power source, and is fully DDA compliant. It was also fitted with anti-snow build-up elements - an important feature if a service is to be delivered all year-round.

As well as service delivery, motorised trailers are also an excellent choice for commercial display units. Equestrian products supplier, Carr Day & Martin, asked us to create a 4.2m Motorised Display Unit. This would allow them to showcase their products at agricultural, country fairs and other events. The motorised trailer was built on a 3500kgs Peugeot Boxer Low Floor Chassis Cab and includes product display elements, a full-width canopy and headboard, and low access steps.
